All for one – and fun for all!

By Valerie Morelli

Before coming to the Festival I’d never seen The Three Musketeers – but from all the excitement around this season’s production, I knew that I was in for an amazing adventure. As the seats began to fill up and fog slowly started rolling onto the stage, I knew that I wouldn’t be disappointed – and I wasn’t! You’ll see what I mean after you watch this short trailer!

I was so amazed at how quickly the set kept changing throughout the show and how great the lighting designs were in creating different effects like sun streaming through trees.

The story – written by Alexandre Dumas and adapted for the Festival stage by Peter Raby – follows the daring young cadet D’Artagnan on his journey to become one of King Louis XIII’s Musketeers. When he and his friends Athos, Porthos and Aramis learn of a villainous plot by the Cardinal Richelieu to start a war with England, they wholeheartedly risk their lives to protect their beloved king, queen and country.

If you’re looking for a thrilling show to see with the family, then this is the one to catch!

This swashbuckling production delivers nail-biting battles, gorgeous seventeenth-century costumes and a host of colourful characters, good and evil. It’s a definite must-see for anyone looking for a fun-filled visit to the theatre!
